Guided by the school’s broad philosophy “Every Individual Matters” and the firm belief that “Every child has interests and talents’, the school has realigned its niche, PSE Hockey to Social-emotional learning and character development Through Active paRticipation in Sports (S.T.A.R.S.) programme. The programme is aligned to the school’s Strategic Thrust 1- Holistic Development of Pupils with the Strategic Objective of providing a student-centric and all rounded education that is infused with values. Hence, the S.T.A.R.S. programme infuses the school’s STAR values of Self-discipline, Teamwork, Affection and Responsibility as well as PPS Student Outcomes and 21CC.
We strongly believe that sports and games provide an excellent platform for our pupils to learn and practice teamwork, goal-setting, determination and good sportsmanship. Through games, the pupils get to experience the triumph of success and the agonies of defeat and in the process learn the important value of resilience. We firmly believe that these skills and values will put our pupils in good stead when faced with life’s challenges in the future.
